Digital treasury platform

Digital treasury platform for a national member federation

A fragmented set of finance workflows was turned into one structured platform for approvals, payments, reporting, and control across a complex member organisation.

Context

A large member organisation needed finance workflows that matched how it actually operated.

The challenge was not just digitising forms. The system had to respect employees, trustees, local groups, regional boards, subsidiaries, cost centres, reimbursements, honorariums, invoices, payments, reporting, and auditability without flattening everything into a generic accounting view.

Financial flow

We shaped the platform around money movement, approval responsibility, and organisational reality.

01

Access

SSO, role-based permissions, and external organisation data decide what each user can see and do.

02

Submit

Expenses, mileage, honorariums, invoices, and internal transactions move through guided forms with attachments and business rules.

03

Attest

Approvers receive the right items, with separation rules, fund warnings, history, and real-time notifications.

04

Pay and report

Payments, tax files, salary sheets, SIE exports, and economic reports support finance and compliance teams.

Architecture

A maintainable finance platform, not a pile of disconnected forms.

The work combined a robust API, modular React interfaces, secure authentication, audit logging, file handling, messaging, accounting exports, and multilingual responsive views. The result was a digital finance system that could evolve with the organisation instead of fighting it.

  • Azure Entra ID SSO and role-based access
  • Organisation sync through external APIs
  • Digital accounts, cost centres, and cost bearers
  • Reimbursement, honorarium, invoice, and payment workflows
  • SignalR notifications for approval and payment events
  • SIE, AGI, salary, transaction, and audit reporting

Impact

What the platform made possible in practice

Less manual financial administration across the federation.
Clearer visibility into budgets, payments, reimbursements, and approval status.
Stronger traceability for accounting, tax, and internal audit needs.
A scalable architecture ready for new rules, organisations, and workflows.

A similar challenge

The sector may change. The need for a clearer system is often the same.
